Creative destruction

Image: Dwight Burdette via Wikimedia Commons Yesterday I wrote about how things often look like they are getting worse before they get better when you undergo a process of healing. During one such period in my life, I connected with my Akashic Records and was basically like wtf? The image they sent me was Read more…

Healing blowback

A funny thing happens when we start or intensify a healing process. The initial shifts we make might feel great, if slightly uncomfortable, but after a period of elation, at some point down the road shit hits the fan. It might even feel like you are backsliding. Let me tell Read more…

Joyful healing

One type of client I seem to attract (and there’s always a very personal reason for these kind of patterns) are the type A, super achiever, “I’m gonna do whatever it takes to heal myself” kinda person. They’ve devoted years to self-improvement and personal development. They consider themselves diligent, self-reflective, and hardworking. Yet they Read more…

Love in the Akashic Records

When people learn to access their Akashic Records they come into conscious contact with the flow of their soul. For some it is a feeling of homecoming, like re-encountering something dear and familiar after a time of forgetting. For others, being held in a field of unconditional love an be so overwhelming it moves them to tears. Still for many, the very prospect of entering the realm of the infinite and eternal sets off so many triggers. Will I be able to do this? Am I imagining things? Am I worthy of standing in such sacred space? (more…)

Soft Focus

One of the techniques that is key to my Akashic Records practice is soft focus. Not all readers do this, but to me this means practicing with my eyes open. This throws many beginning practitioners for a loop because to a lot of people “going inward” automatically means “shutting the world out” by closing one’s eyes. But this is actually the opposite of what we wish to do when we connect with the Records. After all, we tap into the flow of the Akashic Records to expand, not limit, our consciousness, and when we open to them we make every effort to be just as aware of what seems to be going on “out there” as to what’s shifting in our bodies on the most physical terms.

This morning I turned to the Records to ask for more information about the significance of maintaining a soft gaze in our practice. (more…)

Quiet communication

Yesterday I began to write about the initiatory experience I had with a tree in my neighborhood park. Today I’d like to share a bit of how I communicate with it, because it doesn’t look anything like how I’d imagined it would be. To me it still feels extraordinary, but I happen to know a lot of folks who talk to trees and have trees talk right back to them quite matter-of-factly. This may happen spontaneously on a hike, or a friendship might form over a period of years in someone’s backyard, and there are even cases when communication takes place over a great distance with a tree whom the person knows from memory or even just a photograph. My communication with this tree, by contrast, is wordless. Let me be clear. It’s not that we speak to each other telepathically; we don’t “talk” at all. To better explain this wordless communication, I have to rewind a bit and share a bit of backstory not just with trees, but my intuitive development in general. (more…)

We belong to the wildness of the world

At the end of January and early this month my sleep schedule went out of whack. I’d either find myself sleepless until 3:00 or 4:00am, or if I managed to fall asleep at a reasonable hour, I’d inevitably wake up around those times. During that period I had been feeling a lot of unfamiliar energies coming in and they were keeping me up at night. I wasn’t alarmed because I had been working with an intention to open to new energies since the beginning of the year, but I did want to figure out how to make the process a little more comfortable.

I checked with my Akashic Records and they suggested I stop trying to understand the energies, because I was giving myself headaches attempting to analyze every little bit coming through. Ah, my mind was up to its old tricks! My Records recommended surrendering to the flow and trusting that I would be aware of whatever I need to when the timing’s right. (more…)

Case study: Opening to possibility

I repeatedly tell my clients that an Akashic Record reading—at least the way that I offer it—is not predictive. The readings I offer call for your own engagement in the process, and to have any real effect on your life you will have to walk your path consciously, by making your own decisions rather than taking marching orders from on high. That said, sometimes it looks like a reading “predicted” something accurately. I’d like to share a story to look more closely into that phenomenon to show that it is actually the client’s doing, and not mine, when something the Records said “comes true.” (more…)
