Archetype

The crone has much to say, but let this post be a footnote to the last one because while I was thinking that the topic was kind of specific, a surprising number of people on Instagram and offline reached out to let me know that they, too, were feeling crone energy in their lives. These people ranged in age from their 20s to their 70s. How silly of me to have assumed that this universal, Read more…

Approaching the crone

Yesterday I mentioned the appearance of crone energy in my life, and today I will share some of what I have started learning from her. The very first thing I did was build up my familiarity of her energy in meditation, where I also held all my conflicting feelings around her presence in my life. When I do this I don’t attempt to suppress anything because the very act of letting emotions roll through me Read more…

The crone appears

Several days ago I promised a post about service from the head / heart / gut and I have been wondering why I haven’t written it yet. All the pieces are in my mind ready to be written, but another part of me knew something else needed to come forward beforehand. Yesterday a part of the puzzle appeared: the distinct impression that I somehow have skipped over middle age into old ladyhood. Since high school Read more…

Roominess

I’ve been sitting with a bit of a mystery this week, where words / images / feelings related to “cocoon” or “birth canal” will pop into my consciousness during meditation or daily life, as if I needed reminding that I’m in a hermit phase. I go into these phases periodically, but there’ve been a couple unusual things this time round. First, the protective sheath I usually feel around me during these times isn’t very perceptible. Attachment

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’m gripped by the drama of my tomato patch. I’ve been watching this dynamic between hornworm and braconid wasp eggs all summer and it only hit me today that there is a connection to my Akashic Records work of late. Sometimes in my practice I receive different clients facing similar issues at the same time. When this happens it is always an opportunity for me to Read more…

Pop-up Akasha: Group landscape

Lots of folks in Mystery & Mastery are currently moving through transition, so last Thursday it felt best to open a pop-up Akasha with the energetic landscape of our lives and see what happened. The Records had us start off imagining ourselves as a grove of trees, standing in a circle. We’d done this before, but this time they drew our attention to how an entire forest of trees was growing around us. The suggestion Read more…

Motion in stillness

A couple days ago I posted an image of a circumpunct, the symbol of a circled dot given to me in my Akashic Records a few years ago, along with the guidance that I needed to be much more focused on centering. This winter when the spiral cycle of the Brilliant System came to my awareness—how we move from centering to mystery to mastery repeatedly through our lives—I asked why centering led to mystery. To Read more…

The art of doing nothing, pt 5

Yesterday I shared how, for me, centering is an essential part of doing nothing. By now I hope it’s obvious that I’m not referring to a sort of escapist version of “doing nothing” that gets romanticized as dolce far niente. This isn’t about “enjoying life,” treating yourself, taking a break for self care, or even bringing mindfulness to a directionless stroll or your morning cuppa. I almost wrote “merely” there, but that is a first Read more…

The art of doing nothing, pt 4

I’ve been writing about the pitfalls I encountered while learning the art of “doing nothing.” Today I’m sharing what actually worked for me. If you are finding that you are spending your days listless and unsatisfied with how you’ve accomplished “nothing valuable,” there are a few things that need attending to. Before you even attempt to approach the work of finding your underlying assumptions (“limiting beliefs” in today’s parlance), the very first thing I recommend Read more…

The art of doing nothing, pt 3

So let’s say life has given you an opportunity to shake things up a bit and find new ways of showing up in the world. Maybe this looks like more self determination in how you work. Maybe this looks like a total break from work. However it is for you, things become interesting once you start bumping into uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. For me it often sounded like “Well, that was a waste of a Read more…
