January 2017 gathering

I’d been doing a version of these minutes in our private Google group, but today I woke up and felt like blogging. It’s been months since I’ve been compelled to write, so I’m gonna roll with it. Running Dreamers & Schemers is one of the best things that I do, so it’s really a pleasure to be able to share this work a bit more publicly. I link to the worksheets for each exercise, but these are password protected and limited to monthly subscribers in order to keep conversations private.

In our first gathering of 2017, we welcomed four new members to Dreamers & Schemers! You can tell I was really wrapped up in getting everybody settled in because this is the very first time EVER that I’ve been remiss about taking a group photo.

Our lovely host, Jasmin, took the time to set up the space and fill it with all kinds of nourishing and healing elements for all our senses. Check out her “nourish bar”! And take special note that she has laid out three different colors of apples because, as she put it, it’s important for food to appeal to the eye, as well as the taste buds.

Our #hostesswiththemostest, @senorita4. So much #gratitude to her for preparing such a beautiful, welcoming space. #dreamersschemers

Home Frequency

Everyone I’ve ever encountered who discusses “home frequency” treats it as if we each have only one frequency we call home. Even if we think of this (as intuitive healer Penney Peirce does) as “the highest, most natural personal vibration you can attain,” or the feeling of “soul-in-body,” I personally Read more…

Personal Sun

You can jump right into this exercise or walk yourself through any other steps you like to take when you “turn inward” (centering, grounding, releasing, etc.). Imagine a gold sun about a foot above your head. Imagine that it’s magnetic and it’s calling back your energy from all corners of Read more…

Spiraling back with new energy

Last month an old client emailed out of the blue to talk to me about facilitating another professional development workshop. Instead of responding right away to accept the gig (because chances were I had the time), I let it sit. And there I sat as my initial indifference started to Read more…

Asking productive questions

[Again, for my Dreamers & Schemers]

The practice of keeping a question journal has transformed my approach to life in so many ways. Not only does it strengthen my ability to open to receive, but at its very root, this work supports my intention of approaching life as eternal inquiry.

I used to think it was a terrible thing that I was full of questions, because to me having lots of questions about my life meant I lived in confusion, lack of knowledge, and disconnection. But now I see what I have always known in my academic/professional life: It isn’t about having the right answers, but knowing how to ask productive questions. (more…)

My question journal comes alive

[This post is for my Dreamers & Schemers, who expressed an interest in learning about my question journal practice at our last meeting.]

One of the lovely outgrowths of my Akashic Records practice is my question journal. It began simply as a way to keep track of the questions I wanted to bring to my Records. I started it on my cellphone because I don’t make a habit of carrying my Akashic Records journal around with me, and I needed a handy way of jotting down questions as they occurred to me through the day. Earlier this year, however, I noticed that my question journal had taken a life of its own. It had come alive for me in the sense that I would jot down questions, and in a span of days or weeks, I would get an answer in the course of my daily life.

Two recent examples illustrate how this can happen in vastly different ways. (more…)

Mid-year reflection

It’s been forever and a day since I’ve written here, and I can’t give a pat answer for why I haven’t been moved to blog even though I’ve been processing a ton of learning and sharing it elsewhere. Today I drafted an email to my Dreamers & Schemers and thought Read more…

We get love all backwards

Love

I’m not in the habit of being a contrarian Oh, who am I kidding? I felt compelled to directly contradict a RT in my Twitter feed today for getting love exactly backwards. No, love is NOT “giving someone the chance to hurt you, but trusting them not to.” Love is giving someone the chance to open you up, and trusting yourself to get through the hurt if/when it comes. I’m toying with the idea of opening a Love Academy just to right these wrongs, but in the interim, let’s just break this little nugget down.
