We didn’t have as much time to share the many different ways of grounding, so here is a list to get us started:
- feel your feet / seat / whatever is touching the surface supporting you
- basic grounding / rooting meditation
- balancing between heaven and earth
- G.A.P. (grounded, aware, present) meditation
- method for grounding in motion
- activating the “bubbling spring” behind both big toes
- tapping the cheekbones to activate the stomach meridian, which runs into the ground (done standing up)
- bare feet / hands / body / leather (not rubber!) soles on earth, grass, sand
- grounding yoga asanas (e.g., mountain and tree poses)
- eating root vegetables (e.g., potatoes, carrots, beets, peanuts, ginger, garlic, onions, etc.)
- eating meat
- listening to drumming or other music that activates the first chakra
- gardening or spending time in nature
- holding any kind of rock, but especially black or red stones / crystals (e.g., jasper, obsidian, onyx, tourmaline, spinel, etc.)
- essential oils made from roots (e.g., jatamansi, ruh khus, vetiver)
