2014 thus far has been a blur of activity and I don’t expect things to settle down till October. This past month I’ve noticed that I’ve been entering a new phase in my business. Here are the signs:

1. My Emerging Leaders have made such great strides, not just on their own individual goals, but as a group. There is a lot of talk of “we” and “us.” They are taking real ownership of Game Plan. How far we’ve come since last semester, when it was a chore just to get them to hit “reply all” on group emails.

2. Professionals are so very generously lending us their time and skills because they believe in our mission and the work we are doing with no budget to speak of.

3. I’m feeling that it’s time to start pulling away from small consulting gigs and getting clients more aligned with our objective to go beyond standalone workshops toward the Game Plan model of continuous learning and support.

4. We’ve moved! The Goodnik Residency at AlleyNYC was a terrific experience, and the folks at the Alley have been so welcoming to my young people, who really loved being in such a young, energetic work environment. But lately I’ve been wanting more colleagues in youth work and the social good space in general. I’m pleased to announce that Minds On Fire is now headquartered at the Centre for Social Innovation in Chelsea. Come visit me and my pals from Grassroots.org, who also just graduated from the Goodnik Residency at Alley. I can’t wait to introduce my Emerging Leaders to this community.
